IRELAND-FRANCE SUBSEA CABLE TO SPEAK AT 'CORK AT A CROSSROADS'

May 12, 2015

Cork, Ireland, May 12, 2015 - Ireland-France Subsea Cable Limited is pleased to announce that Douglas Cunningham, CEO of IFSC, will be speaking at Cork at a Crossroads on May 25, 2015.

Cork at a Crossroads is an event hosted by the Cork Internet Exchange and it@cork, taking place at the Vertigo Restaurant on the 17th floor of the County Hall on May 25th.  The event is focused on the opportunities for Cork, should it exploit its natural geographic advantage as a global IP transit switching centre.

"We are pleased to participate in Cork at a Crossroads, an important event that exemplifies the increasing importance of Cork as key communications hub in Ireland," said Cunningham.  "The growth of the tech industry in Cork, new data centre development, and increased telecommunications infrastructure make Cork an ideal and natural location for connectivity to the United Kingdom and continental Europe."

Ireland-France Subsea Cable Limited is the developer of IFC-1, a subsea fibre optic cable connecting Cork, Ireland, to Lannion, France.  IFC-1 will provide ultra-high capacity connectivity to carriers and large enterprises from Ireland directly to continental Europe for the first time in the fall, 2017.
